Professor Bath Receives Award

Earlier this year, the Global Animal Welfare Award of the World Veterinary Association was presented to Dr. Gareth Bath. Dr. Bath is a Professor Emeritus in the Faculty of Veterinary Science at the University of Pretoria (in South Africa). Over his career, he has been involved in a wide variety of production animal welfare matters.

Dr. Bath has been involved in some major international projects involving parasite control. He is a foreign member (international collaborator) of the American Consortium for Small Ruminant Parasite Control (ACSRPC). Dr. Bath is the co-developer of the internationally-acclaimed FAMACHA© system and the initiator of the Five Point Check© for the targeted selective treatment of small ruminants.
