New Buck Test Will Have Two Parts

The American Kiko Goat Association (AKGA) is partnering with Langston University (in Oklahoma) to hold a new buck test. The test will consist of two parts. The bucks will spend the first six weeks on pasture and the second eight weeks on feed in confinement. While in confinement, the bucks will be given a parasite challenge.

The test is open to all breeds of goats. Breeders are expected to be able to nominate five bucklings. There is room in the test for 200+ goats. Bucklings must be born between December 15, 2018 and March 1, 2019. The cost will be $150 per buck. Bucks must be delivered to Langston on June 7. The test will end the week of September 26. Nominations are now open.
