Meningeal Worm Fact Sheet

Cornell University has published a fact sheet about the meningeal worm (Parelaphostrongylus tenuis), also called the deer or brain worm. Cornell has also developed a web page that has additional resources pertaining to the meningeal worm. For the past several years, Cornell has been evaluating treatment protocols for the meningeal worm.

Small ruminants are abnormal hosts for the meningeal worm, which causes neurological symptoms in infected animals.
