Dr. Shulaw graduated from OSU in 1971 and engaged in mixed animal veterinary practice in northwestern Ohio from 1971 until late 1984 when he entered the Graduate School in the Department of Veterinary Preventive Medicine at the Ohio State University.  Following Graduate School he worked in the Field Services section conducting herd health services and instructing veterinary students until 1988 when he became an Extension Veterinarian with responsibilities for educational programs for cattle and sheep producers.  He also has teaching and research responsibilities in the College of Veterinary Medicine.  He has been a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine since 1986.  He is currently a Board member of the American Association of Small Ruminant Practitioners for District 1. He serves on the National Johne’s Disease Working Group and the Sheep and Goat Committee of the USAHA, is a member of the Animal Health Committee of the American Sheep Industry Association, and is especially interested in infectious and parasitic diseases of cattle and sheep.
