Free fecal egg counting is available for current and new NSIP members who are in or market animals to the Northeast (New England, NY, NJ, PA, DE, MD, and WV) who want to generate estimated breeding values (EBVs) for parasite resistance. It is preferred that samples be submitted by mid-August, but they will be accepted until September 30, 2021. GI Parasitism in the Intermountain West
Less is known about gastro-intestinal parasitism in the western US. A study was undertaken to provide baseline data on gastro-intestinal parasite prevalence, species composition, and anthelmintic resistance on sheep farms that use irrigated or sub-irritated pastures in the Intermountain West.
